The Canggu Nightlife has been the name on the lips of travelers in recent years and that is because the party atmosphere here is up with the best in Bali.
Kuta used to be the party destination and then it moved to Seminyak but as of 2024 the place to get the best nightlife is in Canggu and within this guide, we’ll break down the bars and clubs you don’t want to miss visiting while here.
Where To Party In Canggu
The Canggu nightlife can be found all over Canggu however the majority of the late-night action can be found down near the beaches at either Echo Beach or Batu Bolong Beach.
If you’re staying in either of these areas you’ll find yourself in the heart of all the action or a quick scooter or a short walk away from where you’ll want to go to the party.
There are some other great bars and clubs to enjoy the Canggu nightlife at which we will mention in this article, however, to get there you’ll definitely need to grab a taxi or have your own mode of transport.
Canggu Nightlife & Safety Tips
1 – The legal drinking age in Bali is 21 however you’ll almost never get asked for ID though we would recommend having it on you in case.
2- Pretty standard safety tip but make sure you don’t drink and drive between venues, grab a taxi.
3 – There is no uber around the beaches in Canggu as they run their own taxi service and will not allow uber to come in or out of the area.
4 – Ensure you negotiate rates prior to getting in any taxi when traveling between venues.
5 – If you are using a bike or scooter as transport between destinations ensure to wear a helmet as the police love to stop foreigners and fine them.
6 – In addition to the point above make sure to get an international driver’s license and print it out to show police if you get stopped or once again they can fine you if they wish to do so.
7 – Although the Canggu nightlife scene is generally safe pickpocketing and bag snatching can be a thing so keep your wits about you and travel with friends when you can.
How expensive it is to party in Canggu
Due to its popularity, the prices in Canggu have increased quite a bit however if you’re partying on a budget and stick to the beers you can keep your spending down.
A beer will cost around US $2 but the issue is once you’ve had a few of these you’ll always want to move on to the spirits which can cost up to around US $12.

If you’re sick of beer we’d recommend drinking Smirnoff ice as they normally will set you back around $3 which is a lot less than what you’d be paying for a vodka mixer.
The good thing is that most bars have free entry so you won’t have to worry about that expense.
Canggu Nightlife on a Monday
Monday was notoriously a quiet night until Luigi’s came to town a couple of years ago. Situated a few 15 minutes walk back from Batu Balong beach this is where you’ll find the best atmosphere on a Monday night.
Normally a simple restaurant for getting pizza, on a Monday the place is a great place to grab drinks and meet other like-minded travelers at the long communal tables.
On the other side of the bar, there is a dance floor with little podiums that you can dance on and the venue really packs out.
Canggu Nightlife on a Tuesday
Tuesday isn’t the biggest night of the week to get the best of the Canggu nightlife however if you’re keen on watching skaters while having a beer or cocktail the atmosphere is great!
To get here you’ll need to travel along the shortcut which is located approximately 1.6 kilometers from Batu Balong.
Most people either bike here or get a taxi as the shortcut is notorious for having large traffic buildups.

Wednesday Party
If you’re in Canggu on a Wednesday than luckily you are here for one of the most fun and exciting Canggu nightlife experiences.
Old Man’s
By far the most popular venue on a Wednesday is Old Man’s as it was one of the first established in Canggu.
Located right near Batu Balong beach this is an awesome venue for meeting other travelers as the tables are long communal ones which means you’ll have to share and be forced to make friends.
The venue has happy hour between 5-6 pm however the venue doesn’t properly take off until around 10 pm at night so you may not want to be there for the whole time or you may not make it to final destination…
Sandbar
After stumbling out of Old Man’s sandbar can be found less than a 30-second walk away right on the beach.
This is where you’ll bare witness to drunk backpackers getting tattoos and dancing and drinking barefoot in the sand.
Depending on the night and the tide you may find yourself dancing in the water too as the waves crash and flow onto the dancefloor making for an awesome experience.
Thursday Canggu Nightlife
Thursday is a great night for Pretty Poison but since it’s been temporarily closed there isn’t the most action happening on a Thursday. *Pretty Poison has moved further north in Bali, outside of Canggu.*
This is when we’d recommend taking the night off or grabbing a nice afternoon drink at The Lawn or La Brisa.
Friday Canggu Nightlife
As is the case with most destinations Friday is one of the most popular nights out and when it comes to the Canggu nightlife it is no different.
The Lawn
The Lawn has an awesome infinity pool and day beds which are awesome for relaxing during sunset but on a Friday they have some great 2-for-1 cocktail deals between 8-10 pm.
It’s worth noting that the cut-off for happy hour is very strict and if you order after these hours you’ll be paying top dollar.
La Brisa is a great night for house music lovers and the venue is located right on echo beach which is very convenient if you’re staying in this area of Canggu.
Regardless if you visit here on a Friday we would recommend experiencing one sunset at La Brisa.
Saturday Nightlife
Similar to Friday there is a lot going on a Saturday night so you’ll definitely want to make sure you get amongst the action.
Old Man’s
Old Man’s is a great go-to venue and when it comes to Saturday it is no different. The venue picks up at 10 pm and the beers are cheap and will carry you through the night ready to hit the after-party next door at Sand Bar.
Where to Party on Sunday
Deus is located at the start of Batu Mejan and it is the go-to party venue if you’re looking to party. The venue has live music and a DJ later on as well as some bands.
The drinks are reasonably priced here if you stick to the Bintang’s however as is the case with most other venues in Canggu the spirit prices may take you by surprise.
